March NovaRUG Meeting

Posted by Rich Kilmer Fri, 17 Mar 2006 17:09:00 GMT

We want to announce the next NovaRUG meeting has been scheduled for Wednesday night Mar. 22 at FGM (located here) with talks starting at 7:00pm and going until 9:00 or so. InfoEther will again be providing pizza and FGM will be providing drinks. If you want to partake of the grub be there between 6:30 and 7:00. I will post the agenda early next week. Look forward to seeing everyone there (and sorry that the February meeting did not occur).

[UPDATE] Devin Mullins has agreed to do a talk on metaprogramming with Ruby. If you have ever wondered why DHH chose Ruby to build Rails, this talk is for you. It will show you the tools that allow Rails to "feel" so natural to use for Web development. Its not really a Rails talk, but an exploration of interesting elements of Ruby in regard to metaprogramming techniques. This talk will be interactive...as in coding on the fly...not powerpoint drudgery. Expect to learn good stuff and engage in great conversation!
